SALTEK® novelty 2015 is range of SPD with pluggable modules for data, signal and telecommunication lines for applications in the fields of instrumentation, measuring and control, alarm security and fire systems and industrial solutions. This is product lines BD, BDM, BDG, DM, DMG, DMHF and DP. These SPDs´ have been developed for various surge levels, as well as lines leading from outside a building. The individual versions are designed for single-core to four-core lines, including high-speed transmissions, as well as floating lines or lines with voltage link to the ground. There are variants available with combined or separated signal and protective ground. The protective devices can be applied for analogue (such as 4 – 20 mA loops) and binary inputs and outputs, for bus communication and telephone lines. The voltage range is from 6 to 250 V.
In the exceptional case of the SPD being damaged by a surge, the status is indicated in practical operation by the related line being impassable. It is necessary to replace the SPD. The replacement is quick and does not involve common difficulties. The interesting feature of these SPDs´ is that the line is not actually interrupted upon removing the module.
