Isolating spark gaps ISG

Chemical, petrochemical and other industries use extensive pipeline systems for the delivery and distribution of chemicals and fuels. The pipelines are often operated in environments with a high risk of explosion or fire and must therefore be protected against the risk of uncontrolled voltage spikes between the parts of the system, which during the operation can occur for various reasons and can have fatal consequences. Insulating spark gaps make it possible to keep the individual parts of the systems galvanically separated while ensuring controlled discharge when the electrical potentials of the separated parts exceed a safe limit. The ISG series is designed for normal applications, while the special, hermetically sealed ISG spark gaps in the "Ex" version are intended for use in potentially explosive areas.
